These terms are the agreement between you and Ironwood Operations, LLC for using Ironwood. Using the app means you accept them.
1. Who we are
Ironwood is operated by Ironwood Operations, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company, at 306 W Redwood St #4685, Baltimore, MD 21201, USA. In these terms that is "Ironwood", "we" and "us". Reach us at support@ironwoodfit.com.
2. What Ironwood is
Ironwood plans and records strength training. It builds programs, prescribes weights, sets and repetitions, records what you complete, and adjusts future sessions from what you log. Every prescription is produced by deterministic engines in the app. Ironwood does not use artificial intelligence to generate your training. If that ever changes we will say so plainly before it does.
3. Not medical advice
Ironwood is a fitness tool. It is not a medical device, not a healthcare service, and nothing it produces is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Resistance training carries a risk of injury. You decide whether a prescribed weight, movement or session is right for you on the day, and you are responsible for stopping when it is not. Talk to a qualified professional before starting or changing a training program, and especially if you are pregnant, recovering from injury or surgery, or managing a medical condition.
Exercise demonstrations and videos. The demonstrations, movement guides and videos in Ironwood are a general reference only. They cannot see you train, and they are not a substitute for instruction from a qualified coach.
Some movements also show videos from YouTube. Ironwood chooses these automatically from public information such as views and likes. We do not review them, we did not make them, and their creators are not affiliated with Ironwood. They play through YouTube and are subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Who may use it
You must be at least 16. If you are 16 or 17 you may use Ironwood only with the consent of a parent or guardian who has read and accepted these terms for you. Ironwood is not offered to anyone under 16.
5. Your account
Access is currently by invitation. Keep your account details accurate, and keep your sign-in to yourself: you are responsible for what happens through your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has used it. We authenticate through Supabase, so your password is held by that provider and not by us. You can also sign in with Apple or Google: they confirm who you are to us, your Apple or Google account stays governed by their own terms, and these terms govern your use of Ironwood.
6. Your training data
You own what you record: your workouts, weights, repetitions, effort ratings, bodyweight entries, competition results, notes and videos. You give us permission to store, process and display that content so we can run Ironwood for you, which means showing your history, calculating your progression and building your next sessions.
You also give us a continuing permission to use your training records, in aggregate and stripped of identity, to build Ironwood's strength standards and starting-weight estimates. This use survives deletion of your account because an aggregate no longer contains your records. Nothing derived this way identifies you, and no member ever sees another member's records through it. This is part of using Ironwood and cannot be switched off separately. The privacy policy explains it in full.
7. Coaches
If you join a coach, they can see the training they are responsible for and can write programs for you. A program your coach writes stays theirs to change. You keep the rights that are yours: logging your sets, recording readiness, writing notes, skipping a day, and leaving the coach. You can end a coach's access at any time.
If you are a coach, you are responsible for the programming you write for other people and for holding whatever qualifications your jurisdiction requires of you.
8. What you may not do
- Use Ironwood for anything illegal, or to harass or endanger anyone.
- Upload content you have no right to, or video of someone who has not agreed to it.
- Try to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service.
- Share your account, or resell access to it.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things.
9. What is ours and what is licensed
Ironwood, its name, its software and the programming it produces are ours. The exercise demonstrations and the written movement guides come from the RepDB exercise dataset (repdb.co), used under licence. They are part of the app rather than yours to take: you may not download, scrape or republish them as a collection.
10. Price
Ironwood is free during the invitation beta. If we introduce a paid plan we will tell you before you are ever charged, and you will choose whether to continue. We will not turn a free account into a billed one silently.
11. Availability
We work to keep Ironwood running, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we ever shut the service down we will give you notice and a way to take your records with you.
12. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, then Account, then Delete account. What happens to your data then is set out in the privacy policy. We may close an account that breaches these terms, and we will tell you why when we do.
13. Our liability
Ironwood is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data beyond what our backups hold. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Ironwood after that means you accept the new version. The date at the top is always the current one.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, and the courts of Maryland have jurisdiction. If you live somewhere whose law gives you rights you cannot sign away, you keep those rights.
